KUNDA
KUNDA

Each electric pole is from a different neighbourhood of my everyday travels around the city. These didactic elements tell a story about the neighbourhood it’s from. Tells a story of how we all connect with the idea of ‘Kunda’, how we help ourselves to lead a livable life in Karachi. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

The chaotic patterns of wires, an emblem of connectivity and utility, emerges alongside the dense human crowd, symbolizing the vitality and dynamism of city life. Yet, beneath this urban energy lies the delicate balance between progress and preservation. Amidst the relentless decay of architectural heritage, I attempt to document and critique the city’s-built environment through my freehand pen drawings. The direct use of pen on paper records the construction and errors of the drawing process, leaving marks of imperfections.
